In the northeastern Caribbean Sea, there lies a little Dutch Caribbean island called St. Eustatius. It is located on the Lesser Antilles’ northern coast. With a land area of 11.8 square miles (about 21 square kilometers) and a population of about 3,200, St. Eustatius is a small island. It is situated northwest of St. Kitts and southeast of Saba. The island is referred to as “Statia” by locals. It is also frequently referred to as the Caribbean’s “Historic Gem”. Oranjestad is the only city on the island (Orange City). It is divided into two separate portions. both Lower Town and Upper Town. The majority of companies and government operations are located in Upper Town, which is also residential. The harbor is in Lower Town, which also has several eateries, hotels, and the neighborhood. The government, oil transshipment, tourism, business, harbor operations, and the medical school are the main pillars of St. Eustatius’ economy. The main driver of prosperity is export-based business, which is dominated by Nustar Terminals and its suppliers. 140 islanders are directly employed by the enterprise, which started operations in 1982.

The Netherlands in the Caribbean
Together with Bonaire and Saba, Sint Eustatius forms the public entity (openbaar lichaam) known as the Netherlands in the Caribbean. The Dutch line assists Sint Eustatius. The council decision (EU) 2021/1764 of October 5, 2021, on the Association of the Overseas Countries and Territories with the European Union, including relations between the European Union and Greenland and the Kingdom of Denmark (Decision on the Overseas Association including Greenland, DOAG), defines relations with the European Union. A specific number of areas of collaboration are specified by the DOAG. The majority of them fall under the notion of resilience, which has several implications.
Part IV of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) further defines how the EU will cooperate with Sint Eustatius (TFEU). The association must “advance the economic and social development of the countries and territories and foster close economic links between them and the Union as a whole”, according to Article 198 of the TFEU.
The island also has a tiny tourism sector, with diving accounting for the majority of visitors as Statia is a virtual “gold mine” for divers. On the island, ecotourism is more prevalent and there is no mass tourist. The management of numerous ecotourism projects is the responsibility of the St. Eustatius National Parks Foundation (Stenapa). Stenapa is a committed environmental group established to safeguard the marine and terrestrial environment as well as to safeguard and keep track of endangered species.
Diplomacy aim
The goal of diplomacy is to foster and manage a positive image of a nation-state in the eyes of the international community. In general, diplomacy refers to a government’s process of interacting with the public of a foreign country to foster awareness of its institutions, culture, national goals, and present policies as well as its beliefs and ideals. Nation-states participate in the international system’s most pluralistic organizing entity as a result of this agreement. A shared understanding enables one state to safely initiate diplomatic ties with another. Nation-states can pursue political goals through diplomacy when sovereignty is mutually recognized.
Foreign policy
A country’s intentions and goals for its ties with other nations and international governmental organizations make up its foreign policy, which is the subject of such relations. A proactive, not isolationist, foreign policy encourages involvement. Its main focus is on addressing gaps and inequalities on a national, continental, and international scale. Some nations create and make public their foreign policy objectives. For reasons of security, a nation’s foreign policy objectives are occasionally kept a secret. What happens in international relations is greatly influenced by diplomacy. Without using military action, diplomacy serves as the hub through which the political interests of two states can interact. The management of foreign policy objectives with a focus on communication is done through diplomacy. By primarily carrying out objectives but also by developing foreign policy decisions, diplomacy aims to manage the objectives of foreign policy.
